Blues

Somerset is one of only a few locations in the UK where the Large Blue can be seen.

Some of the butterflies in this group are actually brown rather than blue, such as the Brown Argus and the females in some of the species.

The blues include six species regularly seen in our area. A seventh, the Adonis Blue, is rare in Somerset.

Below you will find links to the individual species pages on the Butterfly Conservation website. We will in the future be adding additional pages with local information for each species - so please return sometime.
