Grizzled Skipper (Pyrgus malvae)

Scarce and confined to lightly grazed areas with diverse plant species, the Grizzled Skipper's larval foodplants include Wild Strawberry, Salad-burnet and Creeping Cinquefoil.

Although the white-spotted patterning on a dark grey ground is quite distinctive, their small size makes them easy to overlook.
